Ringdale FollowMe Embedded technology for Lexmark multi-function printers
(MFPs) provides a completely integrated solution enabling secure document
output management and accounting control.

By using an embedded panel on Lexmark MFPs, FollowMe provides full
control of all MFP functions, including copying, e-mailing, faxing, printing
and scanning. The FollowMe all-in-one approach enables authentication
and accounting with centralized storage for reporting.

FollowMe Printing
The FollowMe Embedded for Lexmark technology harnesses the functionality
of FollowMe Printing to provide the following features:
- Users’ documents FOLLOW them to their choice of print device
within the network environment - Users simply identify themselves at an enabled output device before
their personal or delegated print jobs are released and printed - Users’ print jobs are never lost in the event of a device being offline
or requiring service intervention
User Enrollment and Authentication
For security and convenience, user identification and authentication can be implemented at the MFP any number of ways:
On-screen (embedded) authentication
- Alphanumeric or numeric PIN number
- Windows® username and password
External or built into device
- Numeric keypad
- Magnetic swipe card
- Proximity card
- Biometrics via fingerprint readers
- Smart card
- Barcode
(or even any combination of the above)
Localization
FollowMe Embedded for Lexmark provides “on the fly” localization of the
MFP’s front panel based on the authenticating user’s profile. The MFP’s
built-in functions and FollowMe screens such as the print job management
automatically changes to the user’s native language.
